Gemini

October 25th, 2009

Since I am a Gemini myself I feelt attracted by this poem. Although its a male who wrote it I can relate to it very much ofcourse to some extend. I had this poem posted logn ago on my old poetry website. Ofcourse with permission from the original author David E Penn. If you know the author personally or though other means please drop me a line or inform him that I have once again published his poem here. Thank you in advance

GEMINI

Who are we,we are the twin prince of the night mesmerizing the minds of the ones we claim we love,

Who are we, we are the apt one who plays dumb in front of our enemies that judge us by appearance alone,

Who are we, we are the one with clandestine intentions dispensing from this irate crate of emotions honorably devoting themselves to satisfy the ego’s of everyone we come in contact with,

but quick to snap on the backstabers and hypocrites slash haters who seem to misread our kindness for gullibility,

Who are we, we are love and hate yet we emulate interest to adopt to out surrounding,
Who are we, we are the playboys that steal and give love in exchange for comfort,
Who are we, we are the one that you love to hate but hate not to love,
I am your friend, I am your enemy I am your friend I am your enemy I am your friend I am your enemy I am your friend and I am also your enemy,
I am you lover, I am that man you cant stand to be around, but drop to the ground with amorous frowns thinking your life is crumbling down when we leave you,
You ask who are we, well we are actually one but you can call me
“Gemini”

Lavender Moments by Laryalee Fraser

October 24th, 2009

Today I like to show you a poem that’s very dear to me. Unlike most poems on my blogsite, I did not wrote this one myself. I wanted to share it with you but not without the original author’s permission. So I went on a search for the original authors email address or other means of contacting her. That was not too hard. Off course I already had her name and the title of the poem. A few minutes after entering the information in Google I had found what I needed. Laryalee’s email address.

Then I wrote her a letter by email explaining that I wanted to publish her poem on my blog and why her poem was so dear to me. At the time that I had found her poem I was living with my daughter in a shelter for abused females. Not the most easy situation and I found a lot of comfort, strength and courage in her poem aside of that, I simply love lavender. I printed it and pinned it on the note board it in our room. This was years ago and my life has changed much since then, as you can read on my blog, but I always kept the poem close.

I was somewhat worried that she may not even read my email because the information I had found was a little bit outdated. Nonetheless a week later I received a heartwarming  reply from Laryalee. She was moved by the letter I had written her and  was please that I had let her know what the poem meant to me. I was lucky.. The email address I had found was indeed outdated but faith let her receive my letter anyway.  She told me she had started to write in a time of depression after her husband had died. Writing poetry helped her deal with it and I can completely relate to that. She gave me permission to publish her poem and any others if I wished to, here on my blog and share it with my readers. So here it is… Lavender Moments.

Lavender Moments

Lavender moments roll down through the greyness
that sometimes hangs heavily over our heads;
if we can just catch one and breathe in its essence,
our thoughts will go swinging on lavender threads.

Lavender moments are clear with a focus
that shows us the rush of this journey we’re on;
we suddenly see the importance of pausing
to savor the sunlight before it has gone.

Lavender moments are fresh with awareness
of all that is precious — the waking-up smile
of a loved one, the warm validations of friendship,
the markers we leave at the end of each mile.

They’re filled with an “ah”, like a soft-feathered murmur
that layers a hush on our workaday lives.
Our burdens feel lighter, our faith becomes stronger
whenever a lavender moment arrives.

The original poem is located here on her own website where you can find many more of her poems and writings. Please do pay her site a visit if you love reading poetry. I am glad I could share this poem that meant so much to me, with all of you and maybe someday someone will read it on my blog and can find just as much comfort in it as I did. Thank you Laryalee, for writing this wonderful heartwarming poem and giving me the chance to share it with my readers.

Hotmail hacked!! 100,000’s of emails compromised

October 24th, 2009

Yes 100.000’s of hotmail accounts have been compromised. I know its old news but today we where affected by this personally and realized how real it is.

I was reading my email and got an email from my husband. O.o I was like O.o why would he send me an email? I checked the address and yes it was from him. I opened it and read it to find a spam message from some cellphone company. I immediately alerted my husband and he checked his hotmail account right away.

Once logged in he found a lot of returned emails from email addresses that has not been in use anymore. The message that had been send out to those was the same spam i had received.. with links to this site: http://www.mydosell.com. I do not know how save that site is so please be aware of that before you go there. That’s the reason why I did not made a clickable link to it.  That made us realize that someone indeed has been using his email for this spam. Offcourse he changed his pw immediately and I started to Google information on it.

Here’s what I found on the BBC website:

posted on Monday, 5 October 2009 20:02 UK

Thousands of accounts on web-based e-mail system Hotmail have been compromised in a phishing attack, software giant Microsoft has confirmed.

BBC News has seen a list of more than 10,000 e-mail accounts, predominantly originating from Europe, and passwords which were posted online.

To read the whole story click here.

I was not satisfied and wanted to know more and I found this at neowin.net.

An anonymous user posted details of the accounts on October 1 at pastebin.com, a site commonly used by developers to share code snippets. The details have since been removed but Neowin has seen part of the list posted and can confirm the accounts are genuine and most appear to be based in Europe. The list details over 10,000 accounts starting from A through to B, suggesting there could be additional lists. Currently it appears only accounts used to access Microsoft’s Windows Live Hotmail have been posted, this includes @hotmail.com, @msn.com and @live.com accounts.

To read the whole story please go here.

I have read some more stories about this and  some sources said that also g-mail and yahoo and other web-based email sites  have been affected. So my advice for everyone with a web-based email is simple PLEASE change your pw immediately and IF you use that same pw for other accounts  then DO change those too AFTER you have changed your hotmail email pw. To be sure you may want to check on forehand if you are not by any chance affected by a keylogger or a trojan. So your pw does not get compromised again.
