I know it is a little late but  I had so much going on aside of the fact that my website has been down that I did not uploaded any pictures of the cake that I made for both my birthday and the visit of Antonio’s family. Its my first big cake I made and decorated with fondant. I had made two real small ones just to try out and to get a taste sample but other then that this is basically my first full decorated home made cake. I have to say I am very pleased with the result of it. Here are some pictures of my artwork before we eat it.

Since I bought my new sewing machine, I really wanted to start sewing again. I have a few books with patterns I want to make but had no fabrics. I checked a few markets last few weeks for nice fabrics but could not really find anything I liked for a price I liked, so the waiting was on the fabric event at Boss en Lommer in Amsterdam today June 24. I found lots of fabrics and could easily have bought more but one has to stop at one point. The weather was bad. I was there early, but it was already very crowded so I started at the other side of the market where there where less people so at least I would get a shot at buying some nice fabrics for a good price. It was raining the whole time, that was in my advantage I think, because it was very crowded and it was hard to get to some stalls. If it had been a nice and sunny day or even just not raining there would have been more people, I am sure. I did not like the rain but today I did not complained too much about it.

And here are the fabrics I bought today:

White lace for curtains in Anarosa her tabletent, a sheer lilac roses fabric to go with the lilac satin, think im going to make a top and shorts from those. The pink fabric is stretch and Although I have plenty of that I will make at least leggings for Anarosa from that.

The pink fabric is a lil thicker stretch material I will use for a lil jacket with stretch pants for me and the sheer yellow with flowers I am thinking to make a top out of or a dress. not sure yet. The creme color fabric is suedine, not sure what I will use it for but it was only 1 euros a meter

I have no Idea what I will make out of these . The one with the lil roses needs no ironing at all, the light pink fabric I might make a stretch longsleeve out, the darker pink is thicker material and I might use for a pair of pants for Anarosa with a lil jacket. The towel fabric I have no idea what I will do with yet.

Of course when I have made something from these fabrics, I will show it here. 🙂

I had been thinking about buying a new sewing machine for a while, but never really had the extra money for it because there where always so many other things that needed to be taken care of first. Now we are finally caught up with a lot of these things I started thinking more seriously about a new sewing machine again. I have been looking on several websites and after some research and checking with my mom, who happens to work in a needle craft store where they also sell sewing machines, I decided to buy a Singer, model 1120. It was a used machine but completely checked and tested. The store where I bought it is a regular sewing machine store which has been existing since a long time. I received the machine today and tested it out. It looks pretty much like new as if its never been used and works fine. I have to get used to it though because my old machine only knew two different stitches.. straight and zigzag. I could change the stitch length and width and back and forth but that’s as fancy as it would get. This new sewing machine has I dunno how many stitches and its going to take me a bit to just learn how to use the regular ones even. Hopefully it will run as long as my old one which is at least 30 years old. Anyway that was kinda the highlight of my day and had to share it :).

So barely 1 day after moving to a new host my site again comes up with a load of errors. This needs to change. I don’t want my husband to have to spend time fixing up stuff all the time due to a bad hosting company who don’t have their things working properly as they should.

He went looking for again another host and he found one and I also could have my own domain now. It would cost me a few bucks though. So I put some thoughts in this and although its just my personal blah blah blah blog where the only loyal customers are a few good friends and a load of webcrawlers, I do want to keep it, if it works properly. And maybe one day I am going to put a LOT more time in it and make it a popular site that gets a load of hits every day, who knows… So I decided to pay up and let hubby take care of it. That means that whisperedwords.nl is now a FACT! (whisperedwords.com wanted to have about 700 dollars for the domain so i figured that .net does the trick just as well.)

Right now there are still some errors that he need to take care off, the backups from the lost posts need to be restored and there are a few new things I want to add and some changes that need to be done before I am content again, but at least I can say, we are back. Now hang in there with me and everything will be fine in not too long…

I hope when that all is behind us that I finally can get to finish uploading my puss in boots tutorial, my new lilacs tutorial and carrot soup tutorial so y’all can stop yelling at me and asking me when I finally will do this 😛

My blog still seem to have a few problems. Antonio can’t reach the server at the moment to fix this so we will have to wait it out again. I am already thinking about moving to again another server. I really need something reliable for my blog. I don’t have the energy and dont want to put the energy for this mess with hosts every time.

I am going to create a flyer for the creative club I am working with and see if I can get people motivated to join us and participate. I have found loads of things on the web and with my own imagination and creativity I am sure I can come up with some small and fun projects to do that won’t even cost much.

Starting with the laundry, that leaves me plenty to do for today, take care all.
