{"id":540,"date":"2010-01-03T11:29:12","date_gmt":"2010-01-03T10:29:12","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.whisperedwords.nl\/?p=540"},"modified":"2010-01-03T11:29:12","modified_gmt":"2010-01-03T10:29:12","slug":"stomach-acid-burn","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/whisperedwords.nl\/?p=540","title":{"rendered":"Stomach Acid Burn"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>So I&#8217;m 11 weeks and 5 days pregnant now and I&#8217;m still as sick as a dog.\u00c2\u00a0 Aside of that I feel acid burn in my stomach all day and night too.\u00c2\u00a0 So I have been looking into information that will relieve this. I have not tried all the tips that I have found and that have been given to me but I&#8217;m not desperate\u00c2\u00a0 enough yet XD. I&#8217;m throwing up a lot I am taking a med prescribed by my doctor on advice of my midwife. Its called &#8220;Emesafene and is helping me to keep my food in XD. Milk is not very helpfull I have noticed when you have trouble keeping your food in . So I am trying to avoid that.. Although I could be completely wrong doing so. <strong><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #339966;\">The things I have tried and have helped me I have written in green<\/span><\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #00ccff;\">Things I have not tried yet but have been said to help I have noted down in blue<\/span><\/strong>. <strong><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Things to avoid eating and drinking I have marked with red<\/span><\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>I hope I can help some people here with the information that I have here for you.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>What helps me a lot is <strong><span style=\"color: #339966;\">Peppermint<\/span>. <span style=\"color: #339966;\">Peppermint<\/span><\/strong> binds the stomach acid. Also <span style=\"color: #00ccff;\"><strong>tea with menthol<\/strong><\/span> is known to be effective.<strong><\/strong><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #339966;\"><strong>When you lay down in bed it helps to have the head of the bed somewhat lifted up<\/strong><\/span> so u don&#8217;t lay completely flat.<\/li>\n<li>Avoid eating\u00c2\u00a0<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"> <strong>food that contains a lot of fat<\/strong><\/span> or too <strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">spicy food<\/span><\/strong> or simply you ate <strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">too much food<\/span><\/strong>. If you <strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">eat too fast<\/span><\/strong> it can cause acid burn as well.<\/li>\n<li><strong><span style=\"color: #00ccff;\">Chewing on some oat flakes, almonds, or brown bread<\/span><\/strong> softens the pain and eventually can stop it.<\/li>\n<li>I&#8217;m dutch and we have a dessert here known as &#8220;<strong><span style=\"color: #00ccff;\">vanille vla<\/span><\/strong>&#8221; and which babelfish translates as <strong><span style=\"color: #00ccff;\">Custard<\/span><\/strong> is supposed to bind the stomach acid too which then relieves the pain.\u00c2\u00a0 Just spoon it in slowly :). I&#8217;m gonna test this myself soon.<\/li>\n<li><strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Avoid thinking about food<\/span><\/strong> it sounds weird but it really helps.<\/li>\n<li><strong><span style=\"color: #00ccff;\">A knife tip of cinnamon<\/span><\/strong> is given as a tip as well. I have not tried this yet.<\/li>\n<li>Ive also read somewhere that <strong><span style=\"color: #00ccff;\">a glass raw potato juice on a sober stomach in the morning<\/span><\/strong> is supposed to help, again, I have not tried this myself.<\/li>\n<li><strong><span style=\"color: #339966;\">Eat small portions\u00c2\u00a0 throughout the day instead of heavy meals 3 times a day<\/span><\/strong>. I eat about every 4 hours a little bit and it helps me a lot.<\/li>\n<li> <strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">No smoking<\/span><\/strong> (perfect reason to stop in case your not pregnant right?) <strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">No alcoholic drinks<\/span><\/strong>, <strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">no<\/span> <\/strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>orange juice<\/strong>,<\/span> <strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">drink <\/span><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">less coffee<\/span><\/strong> and <strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">avoid drinking\u00c2\u00a0 sodas with bubbles<\/span><\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li><strong><span style=\"color: #339966;\">Warm milk, I have added a lil honey<\/span><\/strong> for the taste and here in holland they sell anis blocks, they suposed to have positive effects on stomach problems.
